Koh Lanta is one of Thailand's most rewarding beach destinations: long enough to offer real variety, small enough to feel unhurried. The island's 27 km west coast hosts a succession of beaches, from the busy northern resort strip at Long Beach to the sheltered horseshoe bay of Ao Kantiang in the south. Accommodation ranges from budget bungalows and dive-school guesthouses to hillside infinity-pool villas. All arrivals come by ferry from Krabi (45 min), Ko Phi Phi (45 min) or Ko Lipe (3–4 h) — there is no airport on the island.
