From October to May the Amihan trade winds blow steadily at 20-30 knots across the shallow flat-water bay -- ideal for learning and advanced riding. The International Funboard Cup, one of Southeast Asia's premier wind-powered competitions, is held here annually. Bulabog has a strip of kite schools, equipment rental shops and repair services, making it completely self-sufficient for wind-sport travellers. For divers, Boracay offers a dozen sites accessible by short boat ride from White Beach. Crocodile Island (named for its silhouette) has healthy coral gardens and abundant reef fish -- one of the best snorkeling spots in the area. Camia Wreck and Friday's Rock are favourite dive sites. Magic Island near Station 3 has cliff-jumping platforms for non-divers. Ariel's Point is a full-day adventure excursion by boat with five jumping platforms, kayaking and buffet lunch.

Station 2 draws thousands to the sand at dusk -- fire dancers perform, bars pump music and the sky turns orange over the Sulu Sea. It is one of Southeast Asia's most atmospheric beach sunsets. The sand itself is extraordinarily fine and white, officially measured at 97% pure quartz -- it stays cool even in midday heat. The beach is 4 km long and pedestrian-only along the path (Beachfront Road), giving it a relaxed, non-motorised atmosphere. Puka Shell Beach on the north coast is the quietest escape. Named for the white puka shells scattered across the sand, it sees a fraction of White Beach's visitor numbers and has a raw, undeveloped character. Diniwid Beach is a small cove just north of Station 1, accessible by a rocky path over the headland -- a perfect short walk for those wanting 30 minutes of solitude. Ilig-Iligan Beach on the north coast offers good snorkeling over a nearby reef.

The resorts here -- some of the Philippines' most celebrated beachfront properties -- sit on the calmest, most pristine stretch of White Beach, with overwater infinity pools and direct beach access. Morning at Station 1 is magical: the beach is almost empty, the water perfectly still and the sand unmarked. Breakfast on a private terrace with the Sulu Sea in front is a very different experience from the busy mid-beach activity of Station 2. Diniwid Beach is a perfect half-day excursion for couples seeking solitude -- the cove is quiet, the water is clear and the headland walk from Station 1 takes just 10 minutes. For a romantic evening, the Island Paraw Sailing Experience -- a traditional Philippine outrigger sailboat at sunset -- is one of the most photographed experiences in Southeast Asia. D'Mall -- an open-air commercial strip set back from the beach -- is full of restaurants, bars, dive shops, souvenir stalls and money changers, open from morning until late. The beachfront here has the highest density of bars and beach clubs; Happy Hour often runs from 4-7 PM with 2-for-1 cocktails, flowing into nightly live music and DJs. Station 2 is also where most budget and mid-range guesthouses are located, making it the most economical base for the whole-beach experience. Boat-party excursions depart daily from White Beach, visiting Crystal Cove Island, Tambisaan Reef and surrounding snorkeling spots. Island nightlife runs along Main Road parallel to D'Mall into the early hours. Station 3 is slightly calmer but still within a 15-minute walk of Station 2 -- and noticeably cheaper for accommodation.

- Tip Stay on Bulabog side if kiteboarding is your main focus. Bulabog guesthouses are cheaper than White Beach and you are literally steps from the launch area. Most kite schools offer early-morning sessions when winds are consistent. White Beach is only a 10-15 minute walk or e-trike ride away. The Amihan season (Oct-May) is the best -- outside these months, Bulabog becomes rough with the Habagat southwest monsoon and kiting is not possible.
- Tip Watch the sunset from the water's edge at Station 2. By 5 PM the beach fills up -- arrive by 5:30 PM with a cold beer from any of the beach bars to claim a good spot. Fire dancers perform most evenings at around 6 PM near D'Mall. For a quieter sunset, Station 1 in front of the upscale resorts is less crowded. The beachfront path from Station 1 to Station 3 is an excellent morning or evening walk -- allow 30-40 minutes for the full length.
- Tip Book Station 1 beachfront rooms 2-3 months ahead for Christmas and Easter. The top 4-5 star resorts on Station 1 are Boracay's most sought-after accommodation and they fill up completely for the December-January and Holy Week peak periods. Many offer honeymoon packages with room upgrades, private dinners and sunset paraw excursions. Mid-range Station 1 boutique properties are excellent value compared to similar quality in Bali or Thailand.
- Tip Station 2 guesthouses book out fast for New Year's Eve. New Year and Holy Week (Easter) are Boracay's absolute peak -- prices triple and availability disappears months ahead. If you are travelling with a group in peak season, a beachfront villa or private house booked via VRBO is often better value than multiple hotel rooms. The e-trike system makes it easy to move between stations at any hour -- a ride from Station 3 to Station 1 costs around PHP 20-30.
