Jamaica drives on the LEFT -- the same as the UK. Rental cars are right-hand drive. Public transport between resorts is limited to shared minibuses (route taxis) that run on fixed routes and stop frequently. A rental car is the only practical way to reach Dunn's River Falls from Negril, explore the Blue Mountains, visit Nine Miles (Bob Marley's birthplace), or drive the scenic coastal roads of Portland. The distance from Montego Bay to Kingston is about 3.5 hours. Mountain roads to Holywell and Blue Mountain Peak are narrow and steep -- allow extra time and ideally rent a 4WD.
