Často kladené otázky
Do I need a car in Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc has limited public transport and most of the island is only accessible by motorbike or car. Sao Beach, Ganh Dau (north tip), the pepper farms, the national park waterfalls, and the fish sauce factories all require your own transport. A motorbike (USD 8-12/day) is the most economical and practical option. Roads are well-maintained and well-signed.
Is a motorbike better than a car in Phu Quoc?
For most travellers, a motorbike is the right choice -- it is cheap, easy to park anywhere, and lets you stop at viewpoints and market stalls spontaneously. A car makes more sense for families with children, or if you plan to travel at night when roads are darker. The main road between Duong Dong and Sao Beach is 25 km; most of the island is within 40 km of town.
When is the best time to book a rental in Phu Quoc?
December to February is peak season and the island fills with Vietnamese domestic tourists during Tet (usually January or February). Book motorbikes and cars at least a week ahead in peak season. Off-season (May-October) you can usually find a rental on the day. Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) has a few car rental desks.
Where can I rent a motorbike or car in Phu Quoc?
Most hotels and guesthouses in Duong Dong and Long Beach can arrange motorbike rental (typically USD 8-12/day for a semi-automatic). Car rental agencies operate at the airport and in Duong Dong town. An international driving licence or Vietnamese driving licence is technically required for cars, though enforcement varies.
