Parco della Favorita – Palermo

Nature

The Parco della Favorita is a 400-hectare urban park on the slopes of Monte Pellegrino in Palermo, created as a royal hunting estate for Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies at the end of the 18th century. It is the largest green space in Palermo and contains the Palazzina Cinese, an eccentric Chinese-style pavilion built around 1799 for the king. The park also houses the Museo Etnografico Siciliano Giuseppe Pitre, which preserves a large collection of traditional Sicilian crafts, puppets, and folk art.
