Dwejra (Gozo)
Snorkel spot
Dwejra on the western coast of Gozo was made internationally famous by the Azure Window, a 28-metre natural limestone arch that collapsed into the sea on 8 March 2017. The coastline retains extraordinary geological character: the Blue Hole, a natural rock shaft 15 metres in diameter descending to 60 metres, connects to an underwater cave system and is one of the finest dive sites in the Mediterranean. The Inland Sea lagoon nearby is connected to the open sea by a narrow rock tunnel through the cliff face.
