Victoria — market & old Rabat (Gozo)
Activity
Victoria, also known as Rabat or by its formal title Citta Victoria, is the main town and administrative capital of Gozo, with a population of around 7,500. The town is built around the historic Cittadella citadel on a central hill, and spreads down through a bustling lower town with markets, Baroque churches and narrow streets. The central market hall and the surrounding area, known as It-Tokk, serve as the social and commercial centre of the island. Victoria was renamed in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
