Grand Harbour – panorama a vyhlídky

Historic site

The Grand Harbour is a deep natural harbour on the northeastern shore of Malta, considered one of the finest natural anchorages in the Mediterranean. Its strategic value has shaped Maltese history for millennia: after 1530 the Knights of St John fortified its shores with a chain of bastions, fortresses and dockyard facilities. The harbour is flanked by Valletta to the north and the fortified Three Cities to the south. Its waters have witnessed some of the most significant naval battles and sieges in European history.
