Ħaġar Qim (UNESCO)

Hagar Qim is a megalithic temple complex on a hilltop above the southwest coast of Malta, dating from the Ggantija phase of around 3600 to 3200 BC. The site consists of a main temple and two smaller structures built from coralline limestone blocks, some weighing several tonnes. UNESCO recognised Hagar Qim and four other Maltese megalithic structures as World Heritage Sites in 1992, describing the Maltese temples as unique architectural masterpieces. A protective tent installed in 2009 shields the stones from weathering.
