San Anton Palace is a Baroque palace in Attard, central Malta, serving as the official residence of the President of Malta. Built in the early 17th century as a country villa for Antoine de Paule, a Knight of the Order of St John, it was expanded into a full palace following de Paule's election as Grand Master in 1623. The surrounding San Anton Gardens, covering several hectares, were originally a productive orchard and kitchen garden for the palace and are now open to the public as one of Malta's most pleasant green spaces.
